Raising environmentally aware children and youth

Dispersores de semillas is an environmental education collective that seeks to spark children and young people's interest in science, technology, and, especially, biodiversity, motivating them to become future scientists, researchers, naturalists, and environmental advocates.

The project is based on the principles of environmental education and seeks to develop a series of activities that involve both children and their families, raising awareness about the importance of birds and biodiversity.

Project Objectives

    Awareness

    To raise awareness among children about the importance of birds for ecological balance.

    Appreciation

    To foster an appreciation for the natural environment that surrounds them.

    Education

    To promote the creation of a birdwatching club that involves children and their families.

    Family involvement

    To promote the creation of a birdwatching club that involves children and their families.

    Learning & fun through birding

    To teach children how to identify local birds and understand their role in the ecosystem.

From the heart of a kid

This project was born from the heart of Isaac Méndez Morales, a boy passionate about birdwatching and a protector of nature from an early age. Aware of the problem of illegal bird ownership in his community, he decided to take action. Inspired by the words of conservationist Jane Goodall, Isaac began producing environmental education videos with the goal of touching the hearts of those who capture or purchase wild birds.

Motivated by this vision, Isaac and his mother Gianinna decided to formalize the initiative under the name Dispersores de semillas, with the desire to sow love and respect for nature in each person reached by the project.
