Bio

From the very early days of Moisés's childhood, he decided he would become a paleontologist as an adult. Years passed, and life had other plans for him, but his love and admiration for nature and science never waned. He graduated as a biotechnology engineer, focusing his research on industrial microbiology and practical biotech applications such as entomopathogenic fungi as a biocontrol method for pests in tropical crops.

Moisés currently serves as a lead for certification bodies that assess and verify the compliance of public and private organizations with international standards on topics ranging from environmental impact and production practices to human rights and gender equality. This role has given him the chance to raise awareness and promote impactful changes in a corporate setting, which is not always easy to reach in today’s capitalist and results-oriented world.

When he’s out in the field, he channels his love for nature through birding and nature photography, often accompanied by his wife and kids, who are an important part of his motivation to preserve and raise awareness about today’s pressing issues affecting Costa Rica’s rich biodiversity.
